You will make a huge difference in the lives of children, adults and their families. There will be posts available in different settings and with different groups of people but, no matter where you work, your skills and commitment will be much-needed and we want to make you feel highly valued as a Trust employee.
The Training and Development teams will do all that they can to support you through your Assessed Year in Employment (AYE), so that for most newly qualified staff, their AYE in a Trust is completed within 1 year.
Once you achieve your AYE, your salary scale will change automatically from Band 5 to Band 6, which is a substantial increase in pay. A Band 6 social worker will earn between £38,682 and £46,580 per year.
There are also many opportunities for social workers in Trusts to be promoted to Band 7 posts within a couple of years at Band 6 (for example to a Team Leader post or in a specialist SW role). A Band 7 social worker in a Trust will earn between £47,810 and £54,710 per year.
As an employer, the Trusts will try to be as flexible as possible in accommodating other responsibilities you may already have. In recent years, the Trusts have been able to find new ways to help staff who may need to have flexibility in their working patterns.
